2 Build a team

We believe that collaboration is the key to success. Organizing an event on your own can work out well (it does depend on the type of event). Things get easier if you get help and this will often produce a higher quality experience.

There are three basic sets of skills needed to run successful events:

  • Marketing and social media: writing a great description, getting stunning photos and building up a presence on social media.
  • Communications with participants: answering questions, making sure people turn up and getting feedback.
  • Running the event itself

You may be a great chef, but are lost when it comes to online marketing. You may have a beautiful place to hold an event and be a great hostess, but clueless about social media. This means you need to get someone to help out and build a team.

For example, if you are a make up artist and are thinking of organizing a beauty session at your place, why not turn it into a complete make-over session? Bringing in a hairdresser and a stylist who can give tips on what sort of clothes are best suited for them?
